Game 71: Canadiens vs Predators AKA Country Night with No Duel |

The highlight of the night came quite early on with a video tribute to Habs legend Henri Richard who died last Friday and while the video honoured number 16, the performance that would follow would have horrified him.
Once the puck dropped, this was all about the Predators. They dominated the first with 14 shots to the Habs' 7 but Carey Price stood tall and kept the game scoreless.
As we've seen and said time and again, Price cannot do everything himself though and the second truly belonged to the Preds who managed to score 4 times. The first one came 51 seconds in, the second less than 3 minutes in, the 3rd at the 8th minute mark and the last one at 16 minutes. Funnily enough, at one stage in the 2nd, the lights went out at the Bell Centre and it did made me wonder if perhaps the lights had a good sense of humour and were calling the game. Unfortunately, they came back on and the torture was allowed to go on.
There was a small jolt of life in the Habs to start the 3rd when Ouellet and Suzuki got helpers on Lehkonen's 13th goal of the year. Shortly thereafter, Vejdemo scored his first career goal thanks to a nice Weise feed and Evans also got an assist. While this was a bit of fresh air in an otherwise dreadful affair, the comeback would end there. Final score: 4-2 Nashville. The new lines didn't gel all that great to be honest, although the Byron-Danault-Armia line did create chances early on...It will be interesting to see if Claude Julien will decide to stick with these lines on Thursday against Buffalo. As for the Domi-Gallagher combination, it didn't look good...at all. Perhaps more time is needed...
It was announced during the game that Tomas Tatar would be out indefinitely with an upper body injury. It wouldn't be all that surprising if he was shut down for the remainder of the season but time will tell...
