Try as they may, Florida just cannot beat the Montreal Canadiens this season.
They are 0-3 against MTL to date…and they will get another crack at the Original Six franchise tonight on Habs ice.
Florida has struggled to find their offense as of late. To put it in perspective, the Cats have 40 goals in their last 16 games since coming off the Four Nations tournament. That’s an average of 2.5 goals per game for a Florida team that is notorious for pounding the net with shots - resulting in some significant goal scoring.
The Habs are now 31-27-7 and in the second Wild Card spot in the Eastern Confrence. They have gotten hot at the right time, and that desperation to stay alive has paid off.
Florida will have their hands (paws) full tonight. As Marchand said:
“This is a big road trip. Right now, everyone is playing their best hockey. You’re not going to get any easy night. We just have to make sure we’re playing our best game.”
Cats will need to come out with urgency and not sit back and do what they have been doing.

Tkachuk has been spotted on the ice getting in some reps. Hopefully his recovery is almost complete and he can get back to give this lineup a shock to its system.
Go Panthers!
