Happy New Year, Cats fans!
The Panthers finished their 2024 on opposite ends of win/loss column. After laying an egg against the Montreal Canadiens, a tilt they lost 4-0 against a rookie goalie making his first start (oof!), Florida bounced back and downed the sinking New York Rangers 5-3 in their next outing.
Florida will start their 2025 with a challenge…facing off against the always good Carolina Hurricanes (22-13-2) who are sitting in third of Metropolitan Division.
The Panthers have an opportunity to catch the Canes in a bit of a down period, as
Litter Box Cats reports:
“The Hurricanes are coming off a tough 4-3 shootout loss to the Columbus Blue Jackets. Carolina has lost three of its last four games and find themselves stuck in third place in the Metropolitan Division behind the Washington Capitals and New Jersey Devils. Martin Necas leads the team in scoring with 45 points.”
Both Mikkola and Gadjovich remain out. But Samoskevich continues his hot play with a promotion to PP1:
