Mitch Marner scored in OT in Montreal on Wednesday night. It was only Marner's second career goal on Bell Centre ice.

Leafs teammate William Nylander made everyone happy early on by taking a penalty and sending Canada onto the power play in the opening minute.

Marner became the seventh player to score an overtime goal for Canada at an NHL International Tournament..joining Vincent Lecavalier, Steve Yzerman, Theo Fleury, Mario Lemieux, Mike Bossy and Darryl Sittler. Marner is the only one in that group to do so three-on-three, however his Canadian teammate Nathan MacKinnon did it for Team North America at the 2016 World Cup of Hockey.

Next up for Marner (1G, 0A) is a meeting with Auston Matthews on Saturday night. Nylander (0P, 2PIM) has a Scandinavian visit with Finland Saturday afternoon. For today, all eyes are on Matthews as USA takes on Finland. I'm pretty sure he gets booed. #34 had no goals with the Leafs in his last 6 games heading to the tournament, but he picked up 7 assists in his last 4 games with Toronto.
