Simon Benoit overtime specialist. Benoit had a goal and nine assists in 78 games during the regular season. He has a goal and an assist in overtime in the series.

Toronto took a 3-0 lead in a best-of-seven series for just the second time in the NHL’s expansion era (since 1967-68), following the 2001 Conference Quarterfinals, also against Ottawa.

Benoit became the seventh defenseman in Stanley Cup Playoffs history to factor on an overtime goal in consecutive games. The others: Ivan Provorov (Game 5-6 of 2020 R2), Scott Niedermayer (Game 4-5 of 2007 CSF), Rob Blake (Game 4-5 of 2001 CF), Chris Chelios (Game 3-4 of 1995 CSF), Rick Smith (Game 2-3 of 1978 QF) and Serge Savard (Game 1-2 of 1969 SF).

It was also the tenth fastest goal by a defenceman in overtime playoff history.

That's eight straight wins by the Leafs now, and 5/9 on the power play in the series.
I wonder if Brady Tkachuk is panicking now?

Game four goes Saturday evening and very well good be good night and good luck for the Senators.
Stolarz has 11 straight wins now with a 1.53GAA and a .944SV%.

Washington, Carolina and the Kings all look to join the Leafs being up 3-0, on Friday night.

Senators have only managed six goals in the series, four at even strength.Last night didn't generate a lot of shots, both teams with 20. Leafs with under 25 in all three games, quality, not quantity.

Saturday morning I will get you set for what could be the end of the series.

A nice Saturday of hockey, could have 12 straight hours of pucks. Tampa trying to show up against the Panthers at 1PM.
