The Thunder ended Trois-Rivieres’ hopes for the tying goal as they added an empty net goal before the final buzzer.

A penalty against Chris Jandric as the Thunder capitalized on the man advantage before the first intermission. Early into the second, Jakov Novak reached the 20-goal mark as he drove to the net and beat the goalie with a shot from the faceoff dot. Adirondack cancelled the lead before the second intermission and both teams picked up a point as there was not any more scoring before the end of regulation. In overtime, Tommy Cormier found Chris Jandric in the slot and he buried it to win the game for the home team.
