Jason Zucker injury update

The Penguins and Avalanche played a pretty entertaining game on Saturday afternoon which ended with a 3-2 victory for Colorado. It is always nice to see that amount of skill on the ice and to think there are even more skilled players (Kadri, Landeskog, Zucker) who were not playing in the game. We won’t have to wait long to see a rematch. The Avs will be in Pittsburgh on Tuesday.

Will Jason Zucker be ready to go by then?

If you take this at face value it would appear serious injury was avoided. However, an Instagram post is not a diagnosis and we will continue to wait for more word from the Penguins. Zucker did take the ice today. He was not in full gear and he did not stay for long

As for when an update is forthcoming? Tomorrow seems to be the day

Jason Zucker is going to be an important piece for the Penguins in the playoffs. Not having him weakens the holistic attack the Penguins can throw at other teams. Not having him adds another 13th forward caliber player to the lineup. There’s about a month left before the playoffs are going to begin. A best case scenario is Zucker gets back to practicing fully and then gets some game action before the playoffs. He has missed a sizeable amount of time and trying to come back off of two separate injuries isn’t going to be easy at playoff speed.

We’ll find out more tomorrow
