Yeah, so how about the Penguins center depth at the moment…

This one really surprises me. I was almost certain we would see Crosby in action on Saturday night. The team has had full practices with the gap between Tuesday and Saturday games. Crosby hasn’t been a part of them and for him to be ruled out days before shows he isn’t as close as maybe I personally thought he was. This is compounded by the news about Jeff Carter

So he is going to have to test negative multiple times before he can come back. Will it be in time for Saturday? Who knows. What is known is the Penguins center depth is the following with Crosby, Malkin, and Carter out

Blueger
Rodrigues
O’Connor
Boyle

One more injury and they’ll have to rip Mark Donk off the couch and get him to stop eating fries, smoking cigarettes, and get him started working out with Jay Caufield.

This entire start to the season for the Penguins have been filled with adversity and they have done a marvelous job so far.

In other news the Penguins will be sticking with John Marino and Marcus Pettersson as a pairing per Todd Reirdan. This is the only decision to be made. They’ve been excellent so far this year.

As you can see above Tristan Jarry is also in COVID protocol. Jarry has had a splendid start to the season and hopefully this doesn’t act as a deterrent to his great start.
