Sidney Crosby is going to Colorado |

If you pay attention to dorks who post pictures of local bridges you may get the impression Sidney Crosby is going to be imminently traded. If you want to connect the dots doesn’t it make all the sense in the world?
The Colorado Avalanche just traded their star winger in Mikko Rantanen. He is a pending UFA and the team wasn’t going to be able to match the number he was looking for, supposedly 14M AAV. So instead of being one and done with Rantanen they got ahead of things and acquired both Martin Necas and Jack Drury to soften the blow. This gives Colorado a little bit of roster flexibility.
Coincidently, Nathan MacKinnon and Sidney Crosby are friends and they are both from Nova Scotia, can you believe that? I know, I can’t believe nobody has said anything about this before. Now that I’m aware of this friendship it seems like destiny for these two buddies to get together and win some Cups. I wonder what Sid thinks about all this. It must be something he’s already been demanding to his agent.
Early this season, I asked Sidney Crosby about the inevitable trade rumors that will involve him.
He laughed.
“I don’t worry that stuff. I’ve said I’m going to always be here. I just signed a new contract to be here. I’ve been very up front about it — I’m a Pittsburgh Penguin.”

Huh, it appears reality is the exact opposite of this manufactured destiny. It doesn’t sound like Sid is down low to be traded from Pittsburgh even if it means hanging out with his eastern Canadian buddy. I think there may have been a misunderstanding. But those bridge pictures? I suppose bridge photo innuendos just aren’t what they used to be. What a sad sad revelation.
Oh I know, Sid is going to go to Colorado... on March 4th, when the Penguins take on the Avalanche at Ball Arena. Phew, glad we cleared all that up. Sidney Crosby is going to keep being a Penguins just like he always has and he still gets to go to Colorado.
