Will the Penguins have a much improved lineup for Game 3? |

Heading into tonight’s Game 3 we don’t have much in the way of information regarding the injured Penguins to have been listed day-to-day. Mike Sullivan gave a boiler plate answer
Jason Zucker is probably the player closest to returning. He took warmups the other night. I would expect to see him back in the lineup and give a boost to the Malkin line.
Brian Dumoulin is a mystery for now.
We did see some players of note on the ice today. Here is what is the biggest news among the Penguins injured players
Can’t return to action if you don’t start skating again. Obviously, a great sign to see Jarry back on the ice. How soon can he return to game action? I honestly don’t have a good read on it. Is he at a pain tolerance part of recovery? Or do they still have to be cautious with setbacks? It really depends on which of the two is the situation with how soon we should expect him to be back. Here’s a fun little question to ponder while we wait for more answers
We also had a player skating who is likely on a shorter timeline to return
The Penguins really need his skill in the lineup. They’ve been playing good hockey, but they don’t have enough skill to cash in on their opportunities. Rakell can both score and set up his teammates. I think if he and Zucker return it might be enough to push the Penguins through the Shesterkin forcefield. Saying the Penguins are playing great is not hyperbole.
I expect a good effort from the home team tonight, but things are going to hinge on both goalies once again. Can Shesterkin continue to be a super hero? And can Domingue be league average? If either falters it is probably too much for their team to overcome. No pressure, guys.
