Avs Slow Start Leads To Some Very Predicable Jack Eichel Speculation |

The Colorado Avalanche fell to 2-4-0 after the Vegas Golden Knights beat them 3-1 on Tuesday night. It was another ho-hum performance from Colorado and one that has us all wondering, "what is wrong with these guys?"
The game wasn't terrible. The Avs had their share of chances but something is off. A typically speedy team looked slow in comparison to the Golden Knights. Shots are off-target. Turnovers are egregious and everything else is just... off. I don't know how else to put it.
Colorado is in the bottom third of the league in goals-for, goals-against, and shots on goal. The power play has been lifeless and they are bleeding shots on goal against. This is a tried and true formula for failure.
I've noticed, you've noticed and now the hockey world is on notice.
Cue the Jack Eichel rumors in 3... 2... 1...
While perusing the interweb I came across a slew of interesting Eichel/Avs speculation.
Apparently, talks between Vegas and BUffalo have ramped up because many believe Eichel is ready to file a grievance with the league. Frank Seravalli of the Daileyfaceoff.com thinks the Sabres want to get ahead of that and finalize a deal as fast as possible.
Because Vegas is involved some believe the Avs could jump in and snatch Eichel away from their biggest competition in the West. Mark Kiszla of the Denver Post thinks Joe Sakic could look to make a big move if the team continues to stumble. What's bigger than Jack Eichel?
Colorado has cap space and attractive trade pieces but does it actually make any sense for this club?
I just don't see this happening. Vegas and Colorado are not playing tit-for-tat like Carolina and Montreal. Not to mention the while neck surgery thing. It's not a poor excuse for clicks. (My clicks aside)
Look, I get it... Colorado is off to a slow start. Heck, they started slowly last season. They didn't panic then and they won't now. Sakic and company are not going to scrap the whole blueprint in favor of some sexy quick fix. Eichel is not the answer. Time and patience are.
