Cale Makar Named Finalist For Norris Trophy |

In what should be a surprise to nobody on Earth - Cale Makar has been named one of three finalists for the Norris Trophy. This is Cale's second nomination in a row. The 23-year-old is looking to become the first winner in 'Avs history.
The Norris is given to the defenseman "who demonstrates throughout the season the greatest all-round ability in the position."
Why wait to name a winner? Makar clearly fits the bill and is above and beyond all of his peers.
Makar led all defensemen this season with 28 goals and was second in points with 86 (Josi). His CF% was 55.70 and GF% 64.40. His play jumped off the TV screen and he was one of the, if not the, most noticeable players for either team on the ice on a nightly basis.
Makar has been this good since he joined Colorado winning the 2019 Calder Trophy. Two seasons later he fits all the criteria for a Norris winner. Two major awards in your first three seasons. Not bad.
