The fans have spoken and Nazem Kadri will indeed be in Vegas this year representing the Central Division as an All-Star.

He along with fellow teammates Cale Makar, Nathan MacKinnon, and head coach Jared Bednar will represent the Colorado Avalanche at the 2022 Honda NHL All-Star Game on Saturday, Feb. 5.

Kadri was voted in by the fans as part of the "Last Man In" campaign. In fact, he got the highest number of votes in the West. It's the first time since the 2018-19 season that three 'Avs all make the AS team last the same time.

Kadri is having an All-Star caliber season and definitely worthy of a spot in the vent. He leads the 'Avs in scoring with 49 points and ranks among the league leaders in points (49 - new career-high), assists (35), points per game (1.48), and is on pace for more than 100 points this season.

This will be Kadri's first appearance at an NHL All-Star Game and very much deserved. Goos job everybody.

The Avalanche extended their home win streak to 14 with a wild shootout win against... the Wild on Monday night.

Pavel Francouz stopped 24 shots in relief of injured Darcy Kuemper and remained perfect in shootouts to seal the win.

The game was a good one marked with controversy and timely goal scoring and of course another Francouz sighting.

Jordon Greenway took a shot at Kuemper in the first period that appeared to be intentional. He was called for a minor penalty but it looked like it was worthy of more. Kurtin MacDermid took exception and the two dropped the gloves.

Kuemper was down on the ice for a few minutes but remained in the game until the second period before he was spelled by Francouz.

Late in the third period, the "Avs grabbed the lead on a goal nobody saw go in. The Wild quickly responded and the game went to a much deserved extra period.

Mikko Rantanen, Alex Newhook, and Nathan Mackinnon each scored for the 'Avs who improved to 25-8-3 and moved into sole possession of first place in the Central with 53 points.

Rantanen leads the 'Avs with 2- goals and now has 111 points (48g 63a) in his last 82 games played.
