Today’s question is pretty simple.
Do you want the flyers to still keep John Tortello around next year as head coach?
Let me start by saying I personallylike Tortella a lot. As a person I think he’s beyond reproach and cares about people deeply.…. The Players who love him, love him a ton and will tell you that he’s their favorite coach they’ve ever had.. And I even think he has served this team well over the last two years. He’s gotten everything he can get out of them for sure…. Some consider that a problem because they want the team to tank… which of course is something players don’t know how to do…
I honestly believe his communication has gotten better over the years and I’ve seen him change a lot since he was in Columbus…. For being the all-time games coached American coach in history, I still seen him capable of change and adjustments based on what’s in front of him..Not many coaches around as long as him are capable of new ways of thinking.
However, on the other side of this, I believe he has tinkered too much with the lines and perhaps confused some of the players in the process as to what their roles are…. I don’t think he’s the best fit for Michkov, as the youngster is obviously right now afraid of making a mistakes and playing “not too screw up….” which is not the way a player with his offensive skills should be playing…. I don’t think Torts has handled the goalies particularly well. Although a great deal of that has been out of his hands….
I don’t know if he’s the coach to take the Flyers to the next level… he might be, but it’s hard to imagine the Flyers perhaps NOT doing better with a younger coach who gets them a little bit more while still holding them to the fire…..
So today’s question…
Do you believe John Tortorella should be moved out this summer in favor of another coach?
