Craig Conroy dropped a major hammer on the Hockey World on Wednesday night in sending Elias Lindholm to the Vancouver Canucks in a deal that brought back, well, a lot. Here are the full details.
To the Vancouver Canucks
Elias Lindholm
To the Calgary Flames
Andrei Kuzmenko
Hunter Brzustewicz
Joni Jurmo
2024 first round pick
Conditional 2024 fourth round pick
A sizeable haul. Brzustewicz is currently third in the OHL in scoring despite playing the position of defence. His elusiveness is a treat to watch.
Joni Jurmo is another enticing former third round pick. 6-foot-5 and 209 pounds jumps out at first. His skating is impressive for a 21 year old of that size and stature. Jurmo has managed to stick around in the Liiga all season.
Kuzmenko is a fun return. While his season totals are falling far short of his 35-goal, 74-point season in 2022-2023, the right shot winger has a chance of rebounding next season. Eight goals and 21 points this year is primarily a product of moving down the lineup and away from Elias Petterson. Not to mention a hard regression of his absurd 27.3 shooting percentage.
