Two year, $762.5K contract extensions were given out by the Columbus Blue Jackets to forwards Liam Foudy and Brendan Gaunce.

Foudy is a first rounder from the 2018 draft, spending time with London Knights and Cleveland Monsters in his development with the Jackets. Last season with the Monsters, injuries took him to 29 games, but he had 19 points. In 27 career NHL games, the 18th pick from 2018 has only 5 assists.

Gaunce is sticking around with the Jackets and Monsters until 2024, after enjoying his first season back in North America. The former first round pick of the Canucks had 5 goals and 2 assists for 7 points in 30 games last season.

The team is keeping status quo and having guys that want to play here, stay here. Keeps the depth of the roster competitive with the up-incoming prospects emerging internally and to be acquiring from the draft.
