October 26, 2022 — Adam Boqvist injured and out for 6 weeks according to the Columbus Blue Jackets Public Relations team, and have recalled defenseman David Jiricek from the Cleveland Monsters of the AHL.
What a shift in development of amateur and pro scouting of the Blue Jackets’ brass to be bold to have their first pick of the 2022 NHL Entry Draft practicing with the regular season Columbus roster.
The Boqvist injury adds to the number of injuries they have had already this season:
1. Joona Luoto — remains on SOIR
2. Joonas Korpisalo — hasn’t played a regular season game since March 2022.
3. Patrik Laine — returned against Arizona from an elbow injury suffered opening night from Carolina.
4. Nick Blankenburg — sustained an injury against New York
5. Justin Danforth — suffered a torn labrum against Pittsburgh, expected out for the rest of the season.
6. Adam Boqvist — out 6 weeks as of yesterday
From practice, it appears the defensive units are as follows:
Werenski—Peeke
Gavrikov—Jiricek
Bayreuther—Gubdranson
Bean is out with illness from todays practice, appears to be a game time decision for tomorrow against Boston.
Former CBJ PTO defenseman Ben Harpur has signed with the New York Rangers to a one-year contract.
