BREAKING —
CBJ have activated F Emil Bemstrom off the IR, and have assigned him to the Cleveland Monsters.
Daniil Tarasov has also been recalled on an emergency basis from Cleveland (AHL).
Columbus continues their road trip with their first game for the month of December in Dallas, Texas. The Jackets are the Stars are meeting for the final team this season, after Columbus took them down 4-1 at Nationwide Arena.
The Jackets were embarrassed in Nashville, losing in a 6-0 shutout from the hands of Fillip 4sberg.
Filip Forsberg had 4 goals, including the first goal of the game, and three in a row between the end of the first and second periods. He is now at 10 goals on the season. The other two goals from the other Predators players were supported by Nick Cousins and Yakov Trenin. For Trenin, it was his 3rd of the season; Cousins had his 2nd.
In the assist department, Mikael Granlund had 4 assists: on all the Forsberg goals; Matt Duchene had two on the Forsberg goals; and Ryan Johansen had an assist on one of the Forsberg goals. On the Trenin goal, the help came from Colton Sissons and Tanner Jeannot; Cousins’ came from Phillip Tomasino and Thomas Novak.
Elvis Merzlikins started the game for the Union Blue, but was pulled after allowing 3 goals on 9 shots; Joonas Korpisalo faired better with 3 goals on 28 shots for a 0.893 save percentage. Meanwhile, Jusse Saros stopped all 27 Columbus shots.
Columbus is coming in ice cold, currently being 0-2 on the road trip and being outscored 12-3 by their opponents.
Dallas is coming in riding a 5 game winning streak, outscoring their opponents 20-6.
As for the lineups, expect the lineups for last game to remain the same for Columbus, except for the goaltending. According to the cub press release, both goalies are out with illness, and Danil Tarasov will get his first career start. Dallas is also going with a kid tonight between the pipes, in Jake Otteinger.

Players to Watch
Dallas— C Roope Hintz
The new scorer is in town in Dallas. Hintz has 7 goals and 2 assists for 9 points in his last 5 games played. In the previous 15 games, he only had 6 points. It shows the kid’s consistency, but he is getting rewarded right now with top line minutes on the squad.
Columbus— LD Gavin Bayreuther
The undrafted defenseman was signed as a free agent by Dallas in 2017 out of college. Bayreuther has 4 assists in 12 games with the big club, with 2 of them coming in his last 5 games. Playing against a former team gets noticed under my eye, and maybe he will score under their eyes.
Final score
As much energy as there will be behind Tarasov and his first start, Dallas will extend their streak to 6.
Final score will be 7-2 Dallas.
Thoughts? More to come...
