The Blue Jackets begin a 5 game road stand tonight in their first ever trip to Washington state to take on the Seattle Kraken at the new Climate Pledge Arena. This is the second and final meeting between the clubs this season, and the place that made Gavin Bayreuther famous, after his selection in the expansion draft.
The Jackets last battle was on home ice in a battle of the Robinson’s with the Mighty Ducks of Anaheim, in their first shootout loss of the season. Seattle last played on Thursday, in a shutout loss to the Winnipeg Jets.
In their first meeting, it was a 2-1 OT victory for Columbus, so expect it to remain close between these two young competitive teams in this contest.
For Columbus, they have major lineup changes as Scott Harrington cleared waivers; Joonas Korpisalo returned; Daniil Tarasov was sent back to Cleveland; Adam Boqvist has been placed on the IR, and will miss a week; and defenseman Jake Christiansen has been recalled from Cleveland. A busy 24 hours in the money management world of the Jackets’ salary cap.
