The Minnesota Wild score two goals in 5:45 of time on ice in the first period, and then holding on to defeat the Columbus Blue Jackets by the final score of 2-0.

Winger Brandon Duhaime opened the scoring with what would stand as the game winning goal for his sixth of the regular season. Frederick Gaudreau, no relation to Johnny Gaudreau, had the lone assist.

All Star Kirill Kaprizov potted the put away goal for his 34th of the year. Defender Jacob Middleton and center Ryan Hartman had the apples on the wrister.

Kirill Kaprizov, my Minnesota Wild player to watch, also recorded four shots on goal; two blocked shots; and a giveaway in 20:17TOI.

Marc-Andre Fleury was the starting goaltender for Minnesota, stopping all 30 shots faced from the Columbus roster. This was Flower's second doughnut of the season and 73rd of his career.

Kirill Marchenko was my Columbus Blue Jackets player to watch, being a -1 with a shot on goal and block shot in 19:32TOI.

Joonas Korpisalo had 23 saves on 25 shots for a 0.920 save percentage.
