The Carolina Hurricanes put a stomping on the Columbus Blue Jackets and their visiting union blue jerseys, with a 8-1 win.

Columbus’ lone goal came from Yegor Chinakov, who now ties the league in preseason goals with 4. His opening and closing goal for his club was assisted by Justin Danforth.

Jesperi Kotkniemi’s power play goal tied the game, and was assisted by Brent Burns and Seth Jarvis.

Stefan Noesen got the game winning goal for his second of the preseason; Brady Skjei had the assist.

Derek Stepan has 2 goals, getting him to 3 in the preseason. Jacob Slavin and Max MacEacheren had the helpers on the first goal; the second goal was assisted by Burns and Noesen.

Burns’ power play goal was his first with Carolina; Martin Necas and Jarvis had the helpers.

Necas, like Stepan, also had two goals, including the final of the game - which also got him to 3 in the preseason. His first goal was assisted by former Blue Jackets’ winger Ryan Dzingel; the second goal was also assisted by Dzingel and Stepan.

Skeji also had a goal for his first of the preseason; Necas and Kotkniemi had the helpers.

Antti Raanta stopped 25 of 26 shots for a 0.962 save percentage. Jet Graves allowed 5 goals on 24 shots for a 0.792 save percentage; Daniil Tarasov allowed 3 goals on 21 shots for a 0.857 save percentage.
