The Columbus Blue Jackets defeat the Ottawa Senators in the Grateful Dead night by the final score of 4-2. After allowing two, Columbus went on to score four unanswered against their former goaltender Joonas Korpisalo in his first game against the Blue Jackets as a Senator.
Period I
Claude Giroux opened the scoring of the game with his sixth goal of the season from Brady Tkachuk and Artem Zub.
Tkachuk scored a rare powerplay goal next on this Blue Jackets’ penalty kill this season. Tkahcuk’s 11th was the final Senators’ goal and it was assisted by Thomas Chabot and Drake Batherson.
Patrik Laine began the scoring for the home team on the powerplay for his fifth goal of the year with the help of Johnny Gaudreau and Zach Werenski.
Dmitri Vokornov evened the game unassisted 33 seconds later. That was his fifth career goal.
Period II
Adam Fantilli put the game away with the game winner early in the second for the fifth goal of his rookie season. Ivan Provorov and Justin Danforth had the assists.
Boone Jenner earned himself with his 12th goal this year from Werenski and Gaudreau.

Korpi allowed 4 goals on 23 shots for a 0.826 save percentage.
Merzi has been on fire as of late playing his best games since opening night. Merzilikins had 41 saves on 43 shots faced for a 0.953 save percentage.

KJ91 played his first NHL game in a month, being on the ice against Tampa last time. He had one shot in 12:31TOI. For a guy that Paz is throwing on the top line right away, he needs more games to get back into it. Johnson is where he belongs.
