Don’t really want to talk about the game in much detail, the Leafs’ stars played how I thought they would have last week (yes I get it - they were sick), and Kuraly is very injured.

Paramedics assisted Kuraly on the bench with 18 seconds left in the first period after a play occurred earlier in the frame that left him
In pain and required medical attention and player assistance.

All tests have come back negative and he is home for Christmas. No new update will be released until after the 26th. Expect it to be a hot presser on the 27th.

Prayers for him and his family the most during this difficult time.

Game Results

The Toronto Maple Leafs hold strong in a 4-1 victory over the Columbus Blue Jackets in the last game before the holiday break.

Period I

Auston Matthews opened the scoring with his team leading 27th goal of the season. Mitch Marner had the lone assist.

Period II

Justin Danforth opened and closed the scoring for the home team 18 seconds into the new period for his eighth of the season. Linemates Johnny Gaudreau and Adam Fantilli had the driving points.

John Tavares mustered home the game winner for his 10th of the year high on the netminder. TJ Brodie and William Nylander had the assists.

Matthews scored a mid game powerplay goal for his 28th of the year. Marner and Nylander got their cookies.

Period III

Nylander closed the game with a shorty for his 16th of the campaign from Matthews and Jake McCabe.

Players to Watch

William Nylander had a short handed goal and 2 assists putting him at 45 points on the monster year he is already having.

Adam Fantilli had the secondary assist for his 11th of his rookie year. He is holding strong as the number one center with the absence of Boone Jenner and Jack Roslovic .

Goalies

Martin Jones allowed one goal on 28 shots for a 0.964 save percentage.

Daniil Tarasov allowed 4 goals on 30 shots for a 0.867 save percentage. Tarasov is so behind this season due to the offseason surgery and lack of training camp.

CBJ THREE STARS OF THE GAME

1. Justin Danforth — goal (8)

2. Johnny Gaudreau — assist (16)

3. Adam Fantilli — assist (11)
