The best of the west came to play, as the Winnipeg Jets obliterated the Columbus Blue Jackets in their only meeting at the MTS Arena by the final score of 5-0.
Period I
Brendan Dillon recorded what was the game winning goal in the opening minutes of the game for his sixth of the regular season. The top line forwards of Nikolaj Ehlers and my Jets’ player to watch, Mark Schiefele, had the assists.
Period II
Cole Perfetti potted the second goal of the game halfway through the second period for his 13th of the year. The defensive pair of Dylan Samberg and Nate Schmidt had the helpers.
Joshua Morrissey shot the next goal in for his seventh of the campaign from captain Adam Lowry.
Period III
Perfetti’s second of the night came minutes into the third unassisted.
Gabriel Valardi closed the game scoring with his ninth of the year from Lowry and Perfetti.
