Genuinely. Another long 82 game season is in the books for my time with Hockeybuzz and proudly reacting and observing the fandom we enjoy for the Columbus Blue Jackets. This has not been the best season for the team, but now we continue on the path of hope with potentially the best young core in hockey.

The Blue Jackets defeat the Hurricane by the final score of 6-3 on the back of Zach Werenski’s four point night to close the book on Jeff Rimer’s career.

Period I

Passing three and a half minutes into the game, rookie Luca Del Bel Belluz (LDBB) got his first career goal in his debut game. His wrister was aided by Mikkael Pyyhita and Zach Werenski.

Werenski added to the home team lead with his 10th of the season. Cole Sillinger got his career high season in points with his 32nd point of the season. Kirill Marchenko also continued his selfless season with assist number 19.

Jesperi Kotkaniemi, my Carolina player to watch, registered his 12th goal of the campaign. His goal ended the shutout hopes for Rimer’s retirement game. The Finn’s goal was assisted by Maxime Comtois, his first point in his first game with the Canes. Stefan Nosen had the secondary assist.

Teuvo Teravainen recorded potted the Canes’ tiemaker . His 24th of the year was assisted by Kotkaniemi and Brent Burns.
