CBJ Top Ten Prospects — #7 |
|
|
|
Continuing with the top ten prospects countdown, we have taken a look at some takes and players closer to no longer being a part of the prospect rankings. Next up on this list, we are going to look at another European defenseman, which seems to be a strength of Jarmo Kekalainen and his management staff.
D Samuel Knazko (Slovakia)
The draft selection that came a part of the Josh Anderson package, the European defender has been lighting up the charts in his native Slovakian junior and adult leagues.
Knazko comes in at a shorter 6 foot frame, which lacks size on the defense, but puts up production and ice time. The third rounder is blossoming into a steal for the Columbus Blue Jackets, but still is a couple years away before playing full time minutes in Europe against other former NHLers.
At just 20, he has a chance to continue to get better, and potentially see a top 4 spot in the NHL.
Thoughts??
Fans!! I would love your opinion. What else can we do to spread the Jackets buzz content around? Comment below and the more you share the more we can get Columbus content out there...
