The Ottawa Senators are back on the road for one night with their first game of the month of November. This gameplay is the first meeting of three with the New York Rangers. Time of play is at 7pm from MSG2 in the States. TSN and SN+ is hosting in Canada.

The Rangers were the Presidents' Trophy winners for 2023-2024 and the Eastern Conference runner ups to Florida in their route to the Stanley Cup.

New York had a lot of main roster losses over the summer. The former two time cup winner, Barclay Goodrow, was claimed off of waivers by the San Jose Sharks in the summer. Alex Wennberg joined Goodrow in San Jose via free agency.

Veteran defender Erik Gustafsson signed with the Detroit Red Wings. Jack Roslovic signed with Carolina.

The Rangers added forward Reilly Smith in a trade from the Pittsburgh Penguins for a 2027 2nd round draft selection. Sam Carrick went from the Oilers to New York in a three year deal. Three years is the most term the Rangers gave out this summer. Bo Grolux and Casey Fitzgerald signed as AHL depth.

Ottawa is facing their first back to back of the season. After this contest, they head back home to collide with the Seattle Kraken in their first game of the season. This is their only back-to-back series for the month of November.

The Senators have 13 games this month, 7 at home. They close the month with American Thanksgiving in California.

Ottawa November Schedule:

Nov. 1 New York Rangers on the road
Nov. 2 Seattle Kraken at home
Nov. 5 Buffalo Sabres on the road
Nov. 7 New York Islanders at home
Nov. 9 Boston Bruins on the road; first game for Linus Ullmark back in Boston after the summer trade for Korpisalo, Kastelic and the Bruins' own 2024 first rounder.
Nov. 12 Toronto Maple Leafs on the road
Nov. 14 Philadelphia Flyers at home
Nov. 16 Carolina Hurricanes on the road

Nov. 19-25 Four game home stand
1. Edmonton Oilers
2. Vegas Golden Knights
3. Vancouver Canucks
4. Calgary Flames

Nov. 27-30 California road trip
1. San Jose Sharks
2. Los Angeles Kings

Ottawa has been brutal on the road, 1-3-0 to start the season. They have been outscored 15-13 in those four games. Ottawa needs to get New York on the power play if they want to get anything going past the Rangers' defense and goaltending. With that said, the Rangers' have the third best penalty kill 89.7% success. The Rangers are in the top ten for the most basic stats in the league in every department.

Alexis Lafreniere has recently signed a seven year contract extension, and has been a main stay on the top line with Trocheck and the Bread Man. Igor Shesterkin is the big watch as he reportedly rejected an $88 million dollar contract extension over the course of eight years from GM Chris Drury and company.

The Senators are expecting to start Linus Ullmark against Igor Shesterkin.
