The Ottawa Senators were blanked by former goaltender Joonas Korpisalo as the Boston Bruins win 2-0 to secure the third Atlantic Division spot.

Two minutes into the second period, Morgan Geekie got a shot past Anton Forsberg for the forward’s 13th of the season. David Pasternak and Brandon Carlo had the helpers.

Pasta also had the empty net goal with five seconds left in the game for his 23rd of the season.

David Perron returned to the Senators lineup for the first time in two months. His 10th game with the Sens wound up with one shot on Korpisalo in 11 minutes.

Ottawa was short-handed as Josh Norris and Jake Sanderson were both held out due to injuries.

The bigger story coming out from the game was the choke. Following up on animosity from his days with the Panthers’, Nick Cousins was the target of Bruins’ captain Brad Marchand. During a commercial break, the B’s leader choked Cousins with his bare hand leading to the officials to break up the incident.

Anton Forsberg had 24 saves of a possible 25 for a 0.960 save percentage.

Sens’ Three Stars of the Game
1. Anton Forsberg — 24 saves, 96% saves
2. David Perron — return game
3. Tyler Kleven — E, 4SOG, 6BLK
