According to a recent interview conducted between the NHL website and Columbus Blue Jackets forward Patrik Laine, he is open to the idea of playing more center going forward with new head coach Mike Babcock in town.

“I’ve been working on quite a bit of stuff, but you never know. I mean, there’s always a possibility. It’s totally up to what they want, but I’d be open to it.”

Laine is publicly keeping his options open with the organization, given the glaring weakness down the middle of the ice.

The Finnish forward has been a career long winger in the show since his starting days in Winnipeg.

He had a few trail games down the middle post-deadline with Larsen after the injuries down the middle to Jenner and Roslovic, and demotion of Sillinger.

Now, with the highway robbery of Adam Fantilli, is this to cover his base early to avoid the immediate pressure?

Is this the Bab mental health game plan?
