This is just a prediction based on Day One of training camp being today. As we approach 20 days until the home opener, this is what will be the roster for the Columbus Blue Jackets, including the extra bench players:

Starting with the forwards:

First Line Left Wing - Johnny Gaudreau

The clear choice, the new guy, and the richest guy.

First Line Center - Boone Jenner

Reports coming out from the Athletic are he is getting the first attempt.

First Line Right Wing - Patrik Laine

The experiment begins and ends with him on the top line.

Second Line Left Wing - Jakub Voracek

With Gaudreau here, he slides down.

Second Line Center - Jack Roslovic

With Jenner back and healthy, he slides down.

Second Line Right Wing - Gustav Nyquist

With Bjorkstrand traded to Seattle, he slides up.

Third Line Left Wing - Yegor Chinakov

With Bjorkstrand and Texier gone, he gets full time minutes.

Third Line Center - Cole Sillinger

With Jenner back, he slides down.

Third Line Right Wing - Kirill Marchenko

With his arrival, he will fit in nicely on the kid line.

Fourth Line Left Wing - Eric Robinson

No change here

Fourth Line Center - Sean Kuraly

No change here

Fourth Line Right Wing - Emil Bemstrom

No change here

Onto the defenseman:

First Pair Left Defenseman - Zach Werenski

First Pair Right Defenseman - Adam Boqvist

Second Pair Left Defenseman - Vladislav Gavrikov

Second Pair Right Defenseman - Andrew Peeke

Third Paid Left Defenseman - Jake Bean

Third Pair Right Defenseman - Eric Gubdranson

With his arrival and the departures of Harrington and Kukan, he is the full time lock.

Now the 60 minute men:

Staring Goaltender - Elvis Merzlikins

Backup Goaltender - Joonas Korpisalo

Who will be the extras?

Spare Forward - Justin Danforth

Highest paid extra forward, he will stick after last season’s success

Spare Defenseman - Gavin Bayreuther

He was the next depth defender in line, he will stick as well

Spare Goaltender - Daniil Tarasov

This team should go with three goalies full time, a lot of injury history and money being paid.
