Stanley Cup Post-Game Two Battle of Ontario

Overtime was necessary for the Toronto Maple Leafs and Max Domi to extend the series lead to 2-0 over the Ottawa Senators in the Battle of Ontario.

Period I

Morgan Reilly opened the scoring to help the Leafs’ depth scoring for his second of the series from William Nylander and former captain Johnny T.

John Tavares capitulated on the Artem Zub minor penalty for his second of the series from Marner and Matthews.

This ended Toronto’s regulation scoring.

Period II

Brady Tkachuk got on the board courtesy of the man advantage. Nick Robertson from Toronto had a tripping minor on Tyler Kleven that led to the power play. The captain’s first career playoff goal was assisted by Claude Giroux and Thomas Chabot.

Period III

Adam Gaudette tied the game at two with his first career postseason goal from Tyler Kleven and Tim Stützle.

Overtime

Max Domi hit the winner early off an end to end rush thanks to Simon Benoit for his first goal of the series.

Goaltenders

Anthony Stolarz saved 26 of 28 shots against for a 0.929 save percentage.

Linus Ullmark saved 18 of 21 shots for a 0.857 save percentage.

Players to Watch

Mitch Marner had an assist on the Tavares powerplay goal.

Ridly Greig had an exchange with Anthony Stolarz early in the third period.
