The news is official as Pierre LeBrun of the Athletic has revealed that the Columbus Blue Jackets are working on a trade request submitted by Finnish winger Patrik Laine as he has two years remaining on his deal.

With no postseason success and a full season since his days in Winnipeg, the man is seeking a fresh start. No known teams are officially connected to Laine just yet, but there have been mentions in the past of Montreal, Pittsburgh, Los Angeles, and Anaheim.
