Zach Werenski Injury and More |
|
|
|
The Columbus Blue Jackets are preparing for their Western road swing with three games in the Mountain time zone. With that, they may be with or without defenseman Zach Werenski, who suffered an undisclosed injury against the Detroit Red Wings on Wednesday night.
This may cause the promotion of David Jiricek back to the main roster; however, Adam Boqvist is nearing a return being in the last few practices. If Jiricek comes back, expect him with Provorov. If Boqvist returns, expect Boqvist with Christainsen or Bean.
Rule Changes
Challenge for Delay of Game & High Sticking — this is going to make the game longer. Especially next season. The price of technology in the game. Refs are humans and it calls for error. I get the point if it’s friendly fire or an opponent deflection, but these are both for specific circumstances. It may benefit the fringe teams in the playoff fights better than the top and bottom teams of the league.
Player Discipline — phew. It’s bad now. Don’t know why this guy is still
In charge.
No Line Change After Dislodged Net — this could be the most intriguing one. If this promotes scoring like it might, that would be fun.
Legs Overboard No More — killing the game. This is the old score way. Don’t know how it wouldn’t be too many men to begin with or delay of game. But that’s just the quick way to get the guys off and on the ice. Most get lazy at the beach door anyway.
Boarding Major — good call. We don’t need head or brain injuries from bad hits. Or clean ones. The dinosaurs of the game can’t read numbers and graphs.
EBUG — I get it, but if the cap is going up, why don’t they mandate a 24 man roster requiring three goalies.
Concussed Goalie — get the goalie warm or create the chance or scoring on a cold goalie. Cost the Jackets against Anaheim earlier in the season.
Neutral Zone Play — if they don’t like the call, this is the right one.
Goalie Mask — keep the bucket on boys.
Reverse Hits — they’re clean as it is. Good job protecting this.
Offsides — it’s fixed for now.
High Sticks and Pucks — don’t swing too high fellas.
Torts Dubi Part What
The anti-Torts slander continues from the old Blue Jackets’ legend Brandon Dubinsky and his fallout of the former coach benching the current and new Flyers captain. This goes back since Broadway. Never gets old. Fun local entertainment to see the chitter chatter.
Both have their own cases. It’s tough and honest but the same tactics do not work on everyone.
