Here is my Question. Now that Nash has gone to the Rags, did Poile judt gain leverage on Homer? Now dont we NEED Weber and CAN'T let him walk with the blueshirts getting that much better?? I think this poorly timed Rags deal hurts our position at the bargaining table. Couldnt they have waited 2 more days???? |

or brodin or siemens or baertschi. maybe dougie goes in the top 5 if things shake out differently - Crimsoninja
so if couts went higher discounting his mono that would somehow make dougie also go higher? i think you're reaching here. |

yea i dont follow him, i just find it funny he gets the green light to match... wouldnt it just be ok were matching.. - Slammed81
I think if he got the green light to match it would have been done before hockeyinsidurrrrrr had the chance to tweet about it. |

I'm sorry. Didn't we just beat Malkin, Crosby, Staal, Letang, and Fluery in the playoffs last year? Why are you guys so scared? |

if he gives up only the picks, he wins by a landslide. if he subs some picks with players he still probably wins. Just as long as he doesn't give up Bschenn or Couts. - tomburton99

like i said earlier, i think the fact that Ryan's value has lessened due to this trade...Holmgren might be even more content to stand firm on this Weber deal and allow whatever is going to happen, happen.
i still like our defense even if Weber isn't signed, and we still have plenty of assets to grab Bobby Ryan + |

On the Nash deal, I think the Rangers did well holding on to Stepan and Kreider. On MDZ, did Columbus really want him after getting Jack Johnson last year?
I also see Dubinsky having a bounce back year in Columbus. Anisimov and Dubi were hell on the Flyers and I'm happy to see them out of NY.
I think the deal looks worse for Columbus right now because the expectations for what Nash would bring back were set too high.

not scared but as i recall, the rags SWEPT us last year and King henry and the other 7 goalies they have packed into the net make it a little hard to score |

The rangers have a top 3 defensive unit in the league. McDonough is a perennial all star. |

I dont think they did. Thier forwards are not as good defensively, which was what gave the Flyers fits. IMO they just became easier to score on, and you saw that we can beat the Penguins at offense, and I dont think the Rangers are as good as Pitt at offense. |

Talk about playing both sides of the fence LOL
Hockeyy Insiderr @HockeyyInsiderr
IF Weber says he has ZERO interest to pursue his career with #Preds, Poile will try to work an advantageous deal with #Flyers.
