I just wonder why, if the Flyers and CBJs were every really serious about Nash, they did the trade now with the Weber thing hanging in the wind. Did NYR force their hand? With those players? |

I'm going to apply for tech support on Ek's site so I can stop this from happening.

Your defense is young and mostly inexperienced. They were supported by a strong defensive first supporting cast from the forwards, which they are not going to have. MDZ is still RFA, and MD is next year... Staal hasn't really proven to me that he is a Number 1 guy yet either... If your offense doesnt play as well defensively, your d-men are going to get exposed. Bank it. - RooNosHockey
Like the Flyers defense did last Season? Any defense, regardless of how good it is, would get exposed if it doesn't have the support of the forwards. So I hardly see how that is relevant. And losing the forwards that the Rangers did today, isn't going to change how well they play defensively as a team.
Staal and Giradi are 2 very solid veteran defenseman. Girardi is better then any defenseman on the Flyers currently not named Timonen. Del Zotto and McDonaugh are future top puck moving defenseman. If they aren't all ready. Right now, the Rangers have a better defense core then the Flyers do. |

I'm sorry. Didn't we just beat Malkin, Crosby, Staal, Letang, and Fluery in the playoffs last year? Why are you guys so scared? - RooNosHockey
How did we do in the next round?

Tongue-in-cheek? Try looking at picks 5-10 over the past 10 years, or even 5-15. To put that much stock in one number is a bit silly... - steelydan
but this works better for his argument. |

like i said earlier, i think the fact that Ryan's value has lessened due to this trade...Holmgren might be even more content to stand firm on this Weber deal and allow whatever is going to happen, happen.
i still like our defense even if Weber isn't signed, and we still have plenty of assets to grab Bobby Ryan + - eshake
Did Ryan's value lessen? If teams are looking for a top scoring line forward. There is now one less on the market.

Don't brethren me, bro - BulliesPhan87
My apologies - I didn't know what it meant at the time and still don't.
I thought is was a positive word though - not something to get one banned.
I will stick to simple words from now on. |

David Pollak@PollakOnSharks
And hearing price for Nash going East considerably lower than if he stayed in West, so #sjsharks couldn't have gotten him for NYR equivalent
So I guess Howson turned down a better offer? Or he just wanted more? |

DA MAN is back. - stveshdy
Probably not for long. It is obvious certain people don't like me.
But I like it here - so I'll give it another try! |
