He doesn't have Homer's poker face.
 - 77rams
A big part is he doesn't have Homer's chip count, but he biggest part is he doesn't know a 2 from an ace |

Have you seen the movie 21? They work together. They also do things that are legal but frowned upon. |

awesome!!
I think Jake can command $4 million a year in a multi year (very close), I don't know why, but I don't want Doan, I would in a Jagr one or maybe 2 year type deal, but he wants longer, even though he's younger

nice, I'd rather have Talbot on the wing for that line but it's not a deal breaker for me.

It's possible. But according to scuttlebut, your not going to get Doan for 5.5M. And based on comparables, Voracek is probably looking at more like 4M.

Ed is Paul's walking ATM end of story. I, personally, love the combination of these two at the top. |

So, let me get this straight. The same people suggesting that a price too high for Weber is an emerging young forward, a talented but inconsistent 26 year old and two first rounders say that a very similar return is a joke to land Rick Nash?
Jake Voracek and Artem Anisimov are very comparable. Both have shown flashes, neither has had a twenty goal season. Brandon Dubinsky has had two 20 goal seasons, but had a very up and down year last year. Tim Erixon is a well regarded former 1st rounder, and the Rangers 1st is likely to be around the same area of the Flyers.
Just trying to get it straight. |

The difference is a 14 year 110 million contract Weber signed with the Flyers. Homer has the upper hand. It is not a normal trade scenario anymore |

neither is a $7.8 million player with several years left that demands a trade to 1 of 5 teams in a 30 team league |

Well first of all, the two situations are very different. Secondly, for Columbus to not get one of NY top young players in return, was a very poor job by Howson.
And yes, I would trade Voracek and Meszaros for Weber.

And Sather didn't have an upper hand? Nash has a NMC clause and a list of five teams he was willing to accept, a couple of whom had limited interest or nowhere near enough assets.
Howson also had Nash being quite vocal in his determination to be elsewhere. If Nashville matches, Weber's agent has said there will be no problem. If Howson failed to trade Nash, he'd likely be a millstone. |

That's the point we were making earlier. Howson should have went to Nash and told him "I'm not getting any fair offers, either give me more teams to work with or take your house off the market and get ready for October" |

we have no idea what was said
but i agree that seems a smart move
however to call this a normal trade scenario is not accurate, imo |

I don't believe that. Nash is known as a quality individual, and a character player. If he remained in Columbus, I feel he would remain a professional and not make waves. Columbus should have not pulled the trigger, and waited to make a better deal. As long as it took.
