That doesn't change the fact that they are the same franchise. The Dallas Stars are considered to have entered the league in 1967. |

Best guess here (and, in fact, the only way this makes sense to me, having checked out the HHoF site): The player in question was not inducted into the HoF as a player.
Edit: No, wait. "I am a hockey hall of fame member" is not the same as "I am a member of the Hockey Hall of Fame." They're a member of a different HoF, aren't they? |

Hextall isn't in HHOF, and he played with only 1 1967 expansion team. Nordiques came into NHL during WHA merger and the Isles were a 1970 expansion. |
