ask me again next year. I think if they stop with this center experiment that hell be much closer to what he was in Philly - CaptPantalones
He does not fit with this team either wing or center. |

he was much better on the wing.
I know Homer said he wants to play on a line with Gerbe and Kaleta. Let him and see what he can do as a checking C if hes open to it
If not, I feel hed be ideal on a line with Pominville and Grigorenko |

Someone may. I mean Versteeg just got paid almost 6 mil a year. The Panthers took Campbell from Chicago and his 7 mil. - ImThatGuy

IMO these are the Sabres comparables to the Nash Trade.
Dubinsky - Ennis/Hodgson
Anisimov - Foligno
Erixon - Sekera/Pysyk
+ a first.
It just so happens that the NYR are loaded and can afford to give that up. - ImThatGuy
Ennis and Hodgson are both WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAY more valuable than Dubinsky. Dubi is a 3rd liner capable of playing some 2nd line. Ennis and Hodgson are potential 1st liners. |

Buffalo has a suspiciously stacked defensive depth chart. Filled with valuable prospects. - GJBoxer14
This statement come up a lot, but 1. Is it really that true and 2. If so, are we alone? Sure we have some young guys that we've drafted that look promising, but the same could be said for a bunch of other NHL teams. It's not like we're the only franchise with a McNabb or Pysyk waiting to be called up.
We have an OK NHL defense - a nicely developing AHL defense - and a few promising defensemen in other leagues. But again, we're not alone in those positions. |

Sorry I just don't agree, his contracts is killing us as is his play no matter where you put him. |

It really doesn't make sense to trade Ryan before Getzlaf and Perry are signed to extensions...if they trade him and they walk next year, the Ducks are ruined. - clarkysduster
they kinda already are. no way getz stays next year. he'll test the market for sure. |

well our wall is currently broken, so breaking it down and rebuilding the new wall could be what the team needs to finally get over the edge and get to the SCF's if not win the cup.
thats the goal. - qcstudios
Yea put why get rid of vanek to get ryan. both wingers yes but both have important styles to them that help create what you need for a successful team, I currently look at the sabres roster and I think that aside from leino, there arn't any expendables. each player fills a need or potentially fills a need, not to mention last year is a terrible sample size for this mix of players, before you go ahead and start bulldozing down everything I think you have the obligation to see what a healthy sabres team can bring, without the conceded selfishness of Derek Roy and With the added grit and heart of Steve Ott. |

Yeah - he's like a square peg in a round hole when you start putting lines together. |

True. So seems odd why they'd trade Ryan for anything less than a big overpayment, which doesn't seem to be the case with the packages being offered. The value is likely there, but the Ducks don't really have incentive to make the deal, IMHO anyways. |

The contract isnt killing them. they still have money to spend.
If he flops again this year, im on board. But I feel he, maybe more then anyone else, will have a chip on their shoulder to play much more inspired next yr |

So are we just ignoring the fact that Murray already sat down with Ryan and attempted to smooth things over? Or am I an idiot to think that hockeybuzz and someone like Eklund would ever let Bobby Ryan rumors die even after they couldn't be anymore dead. |

Thats the thing for the Sabres to land anyone of that caliber they have to better the offer. And right now that is the Center Depth. So one ofHodgson/Ennis would have to be involved in any deal for Ryan or the likes there of. |

They don't have much to spend once Ennis and Kaleta( ) are signed, no way Leino is worth 4.5 mill. |

So, do you think that the Nash trade set the market, or will other GMs regard it as a bad trade for Columbus? |

There are about 200 players in this league that arent worth what they make. Unfortunately, thats what fair market value calls for.
and the reason why we wont have any hockey to watch before December this yr |

How Howson has a job is beyond me. He had no reson to cave so soon other than media pressure. IMO it has little impact on it. Mostly because if you look at Howsons trade history, it's not very good. |
