btw - hiding behind a "private ownership" as a way to discount any and all financial information is a bit shortsighted. financials are released for any number of reasons. could be federal, state or municipal grants or loans. could be public money used to build or maintain facilities housing certain tenants. There are literally hundreds of reasons why this information is released.

You should also know that releasing incorrect information in a certain manner can be deemed illegal and a violoation of many federal compliance laws.

I can manufacture all the income statements you desire. Even audited ones from publicly traded companies can (and sometimes do) have cooked figures. Plenty come from journalistic sources too as they try to conjure figures from the unknown. Next thing you know is that those figures get disseminated and take on a life of their own. And they are neither accurate nor honest. The watchers are usually worse than the watched!

Wise up - you'll figure it out. It takes time.

I think the overall point is, sure he could write out the check, but it's bad business sense to spend money the organization may not have to spend in the grand scheme of things. His money is not necessarily the organizations money. Spending money out of pocket to keep a team afloat is one thing, but doing it to afford overpriced help is another thing completely.
