I think he had a point with some of the guys he mentions, and a definite point on the return we got in some of those trades. Trading Tlusty for Paradis was a useless trade then and I think it is still now. But, I've already mentioned this once today talking with Hudds, so I'll leave it alone.

A Tlusty & Stralman package might've have landed something more servicable then what we got for them I think. The rest, crap.

Tlusty+Stalberg for Percy.....that's two NHLer's for Percy, one NHLer who could very well be with the Staals this season, the other a top 6 forward in Chicago. I'm not saying that they would've worked here if we kept them, I'm just saying I question if Burke truly made the most of the assets he had. I don't fault Burkey on the moves he's made over the seasons, but once JFJ was out of here, and Cliff too there seemed to be a real rush to dump every prospect associated with both. Kulimen you recall was also almost dumped because he was a JFJ guy....he fought his way up from the 4th line to the 2nd line.

Put it to you this way: a Paradis/Stalberg/Dido package got us Versteeg...what could a Tlusty/Stalberg/Stralman package have gotten us?
