Bozak, Connolly, Steckel and McClement are all above him at center.
Lupul, JVR, Mac, and Frattin? on LW.
Kessel, Kulemin, Kadri?, Ashton? Brown (4th line) on RW.

Do you send one or two of those kids down to make room for Lombardi? To what end?

This team isn't going to win a cup this year so hopefully Carlyle gives the kid some ice time, with the confidence that he isn't going to be sent down after one mistake. Let's see if he'll sink or swim.

Something Wilson and JM were both very guilty of doing, even if not sent down, benched and put in the press box sucks too. Vets can make all the mistakes they want, and are always getting better, while the young kids sit after one mistake.

Shawn Thornton disagrees. Torres and the other 'Nuck rats became useless awfully quick when he got into the lineup. And guys like Marchand became more effective.

I agree generally ...but, IMHO, fighters who can play their 5-10 minutes are still assets.

Hockey still has to value the intimidation factor.
