In all truth I wouldn't be against adding Hemsky, I wouldn't give much up for him though. - Double_A
OK OK. I'll get real here. Soderberg for Hemsky

Semin has has three 30+ goal seasons, one 40+ goal season, and had cracked the 80+ point mark. Hemsky has only been able to score 20 goals twice. Who cares if Hemsky goes to church, Semin is the better player. |

I agree... But while Hemsky was playing with Horcoff, Semin was playing with...
You're still correct though... Semin has put up better numbers, and has proven to be the superior player. |

2 completely different playing styles. Semin is a sniper and hemsky is a playmaker. |

Honestly this deal isn't bad. Strait is just a mediocre d-man and is ready for a role on an NHL team, Morrow still needs development, and 1st round pick. None of the bodies really helps EDM right away, but it's a future gain and short term gain for PIT. Some may say PIT overpaid, but it all depends on Hemsky returning to form and Omark given a chance. - deks1
Strait can be substituted with Bortuzzo or Lovejoy. We have too many waiver eligible d-men right now. Some are saying Morrow could compete for a spot now and will definitely be in the NHL next year. Would be a power play QB for years to come. With the talent you guys have now would make a dangerous PP. The late round 1st would basically be a 3rd or 4th liner unless you find a sleeper or another good d-prospect. The trade would help you guys for years to come and would definitely be a good fit for Pitt. I think Omark will never crack your top 6 and would get a chance in Pitt. As I see it right now, the Oilers are really the only team we should trade with. You guys need d-men and we need wingers. |

I had to do a double take when I realized this comment was from a Penguins fan, thought for sure it'd be from an Oilers fan considering I believe the Penguins would lose this proposed trade. They do have a bit of defensive depth after drafting Pouliot who they love, but I believe they love Morrow as well and that he's not going anywhere unless the offer is ridiculous.
I don't put a lot of value in Omark, and Hemsky arguably will never be the same production-wise. Hemsky would likely play with Crosby, but Omark isn't an answer for him. - Kesselmobile
Hemsky will be on a 3rd line in Edmonton, top line with the best center in the game in Pitt. I think his production would increase. Omark will waste away in the minors in Edmonton, will be given a chance in Pitt. Besides Neal and Kunitz, who do we have for wingers. Pascal Dupuis, who has played very well for us, Tyler Kennedy, Matt Cooke? Besides Dupuis who does have chemistry with Crosby we have no one else to play on his wing. Cannot break up the Kunitz, Malkin, Neal line after what they did last year. |

Read between the lines and give up on name-calling -- it just shows you have no coherent response. Really, how serious did you think I was? How's this: you should be banned 3 years for shallow thinking -- of course this site would then be empty. - Vagabond
awww did you get your feelings hurt?
sorry about that...funny how a a laughing emoticon would have let me know you were just joking and not being a jackass.

PIT: Hemsky, Omark
EDM: Bortuzzo, Morrow, and 1st pick
I might consider that. |

i think that the bolded part is very essential in this discussion.
While Semin has played with Ov and Backstrom and high end backend talent like Green et al, Hemmer has had Horc whose hands of stone put Solomon Gundy to shame and gilbert...sort of hard to really compare. |
