Semin played in a high scoring run-n-gun system...

Do you know what my question is after I read this?
Which team will be worse next season - The Avalanche or the Hurricanes? - Maxbone
Oh I remember last season when you were convinced the Avs were a lottery team and the Oilers would finish higher in the standings than them. |

We both can agree though, The Flames just need to go away, what a waste of a Hockey Night in Canada time slot |

I have no idea how good or bad the Flames will be this season. Watching them play sucks. |

The EC starting lineup from the 2009 ASG was a total abortion. |

They didnt get any better, but they didnt get any worse, A 11-9th overall finish once again. I swear I live in Toronto with the non stop Sven Bartschi being the next real deal or how they can get a mega package for Bouwmeester talk around this town. |

Id rather have Hemsky too. (frank) Semin. - Ihatebrianburke
I'll take Semin over Hemsky any day. Even if Hemsky could stay healthy and play 70 games,; he would still suck. |

Horrible blog.
This is a good signing by Carolina. They've added a very talented player for nothing more than money they could afford to spend. There's nothing negative about this move. At least Rutherford made an attempt to augment his lineup. Canes fans should appreciate that.
I've always liked Hemsky's skill set and thought he was capable of more. He's not in Semin's league though. Semin's a beast when he chooses to be...not at fighting though.
Cloutier, when people don't agree with you why do you get all petty and start taking stabs at their favorite teams? People will make a point against something you wrote about and you act all immature about it instead of saying " yeah, you got me there. " That's how women act. |

worst season statistically he has had in 9 years.
431/569: .757ppg
but let's look at his production before last year shall we?
395/490: .806ppg...
Oh my. I think that just compared to Parise. And look, played on one of the worst teams in the league for a few of those years...imagine he had...OV, Backstrom Green etc to play alongside...
but you just keep your ignorance intact...at least you have that when facts are not there. |

Honestly I think the Flames got worse.. They got softer and weaker defensively up front in the Hudler/Waffles swap, and Wideman hurts their defense overall.
I don't think they added enough offense to compensate for getting weaker defensively which means an aging Kipper's job is going to be even more difficult.
On top of all that they move back in first round of the draft to take a guy that was ranked around the Avs pick at 41st..
If you want to talk about a team that is making retarded moves Calgary is where it's at that is for sure.
MIN, NY, EDM, CAR, COL & DAL are the teams so far that have really improved this off-season be it immediately or in the future. Honestly a lot of the top teams have gotten worse..
NSH, PHX (Especially if they lose Doan as well.), PHI, DET, PIT, NJ... Each one of these teams lost major roster players with no real replacement except maybe Sutter/Staal for PIT. |

Hemsky's a good player. I don't think anyone can dispute that who's being fair in their assessment. If someone says he sucks it's because they don't like him or have something against the Oilers.
I think it's also fair to say that the vast majority of people would choose Semin if they had their pick of the two.
Does anyone think Rutherford would have signed Hemsky ahead of Semin if they were both available today? |
