Dan Cathy is entitled to his interpretation of what marriage is. He is "praying" for those whom he believes (right or wrong) are on the "wrong path".

How many people have been hurt or insulted by someone praying for them? If I prayed that you saw the light and became a Senator fan, how would that affect you negatively?? You probably would just shrug it off and move on with your life.

It is my understanding that Dan Cathy's view on any subject is his and his alone. Yes he does shutdown Chick fil a restaurants on Sundays, but the corporate policy is separate from his personal religious views. The restaurants serve and hire everyone and anyone equally..... as far as I know.

Here's what Cathy says: “We don’t claim to be a Christian business … (Christianity) is about a personal relationship. Companies are not lost or saved, but certainly individuals are. But as an organization we can operate on biblical principles. So that is what we claim to be.”

Now, my opinion is that biblical principles don't hold much weight outside of interpretation. The multitude of sects within Christianity should tell you that there are many ways to interpret the word of God. So while Cathy doesn't claim that his opinions are company opinions, it would appear that the organization operates on biblical principles, and that one such biblical principle is that it is arrogant to re-define the biblical view of marriage.

In fact, some of the 'threats' against Chik Fil A from various mayors are phrased to oppose Chik Fil A insofar as they support anti-gay organizations. This, from the article that you posted a few pages back:

WBEZ reported last week that Chicago's Moreno now wants Chick fil A to put into writing that it “won’t support any groups with a political agenda, including those with an anti-gay marriage stance” before he’ll consider allowing zoning rights to a Chick fil A restaurant in his ward.
