I believe there are viable options for a puck moving d-man in the organization already. If you may recall, when Carle was traded from TB, he was pretty much playing like monkey crap. I do recall a lot of griping when Homer traded a 2nd round draft pick right before free agency for Meszy, that turned out pretty well. I still believe there are higher ceilings for both MAB and Manning in particular to be reached. Both have good size and a physical edge. I'm not including Gus because I don't think his upside is as high as the other two.

I think Homer will continue to upgrade the roster if possible. Obviously, he has more medical updates on Kimmo and Meszy then all of us. I'm not concerned about Grossmann. I don't buy he has chronic knee problems after let's just say a questionable hit led to his latest knee sprain (and yes I do know he does wear a knee brace on the other).

I believe he identified the core he wants to build around, but this past offseason he isn't opposed to try and improve the roster if he can uses pieces outside of the core. I can't wait till training camp.

I can't believe they would move Meszy in a deal without getting a d-man in return. If that deal is anywhere closed to being proposed, I would have to believe Sbisa or Fowler is coming back. No way your moving basically two first round picks and two roster players for Bobby Ryan, just don't see it happening.
