I don't know what happened so I won't comment any further. But it "could" have been taken that way by whomever issued the ban.

However you can always dispute a ban by using the "contact us" button at the bottom the page.

I don't understand the system on becoming a Mod. They randomly choose a person who's been ban free?

They keep an eye on posters who generally keep their cool when discussing hockey and seem to know hockey. They then ask existing mods (usually) or existing long-time posters in a team's threads what they think of that person as a mod. Then they ask the potential mod if they'd like to do it.

It's like a genius grant. If you ever ask how to get it, you never get it.
