Here's the bottom line. As long as Claude Giroux is a top player in the League, he is going to be targeted physically. Especially in the playoffs. It's simply part of the game. - MJL
Hockey is obviously a physical game, no one is denying that. With that being said, I don't think Flyers fans are hypocrites because they don't like Crosby hacking at Giroux's wrist on the face-off. Its not like it was a big hit or just physical hockey. Crosby slashed (consecutively) Giroux's wrists at the faceoff dot, a point where his wrists are vunerable.
With that being said, no Flyers fan should be crying about this more than Giroux did. And it didn't sound like Giroux was crying to me. It sounded like, yeah he banged up my wrists a bit, but there's a long season ahead of us here, with plenty of games against the Pens. |

I didn't see the film of these slashes, but if it were me and someone was doing this on every face off, I'd wait for that sob. He goes to slash you move your hands and counter with a crosscheck to his teeth. Like to hear Shanahan's explanation for that suspension. |

Well, a couple of things. First, I really don't know the asking price, but Mez and Boyle's contract both run out in two years. Mez is younger, but I do believe Boyle is better. Boyle certainly diminishes any concerns on the power play especially if Kimmo isn't ready to go. Honestly, unless Mez shows the play of two years ago, I'm not sure he would be in the long-term plans anyway. If Mez is part of the deal, Boyle is an additional $2.6 million for the same length of time, so he really isn't a cap killer.
I wouldn't be shocked if they offer sheet another young d-man next summer no matter what changes in the CBA. Might as well, if it is in the CBA, who cares if the "old boy" network doesn't like it. - ravishingone
If they make changes to term limits and limit signing bonuses in the new CBA. That could make an Offer Sheet a veritable waste of time.
I would keep Meszaros rather then trade him for Boyle. |

What would make someone a hypocrite is if they don't care if a Flyers players does it to a player on another team. Whacks across the wrists go on all the time in Hockey. Especially in the playoffs. |

Was also told #Flyers have a "very lucrative" offer for Shane Doan. He is still mulling options but it appears he will not return to PHX. |

I hope the Flyers aren't that team. I like Doan but at the rumored 4yr 30m he isn't even close to that kind of money. |

I am sick of Many yuck Mike. I am now willing to box this clown for charity, assuming he will accept. I'll put $1000 of my own money with the winner picking the charity.
Someone has to put this nonsense to an end. |

I would love to have him too, but not for that long at what he's rumored to be getting. That contract has Rangers written all over it. |
