He's a bench player, nothing more. The kind of player you can pick up every off season. Not a guy to take as part of the return for a player like Pence.

Blanton will most likely get traded in August. Just hope he keeps pitching well so he has some value.

I hope so but at that point the Phillies will have paid most of his salary and does no good for saving money.

Schierholtz will give them some depth but they plan on Dom Brown being a full time player from here out. Will see what they can do in the offseason to upgrade the team.

I'm not totally disappointed with the Pence trade. They got back a catcher who is legit and in a few years they will need one cause Ruiz isn't getting any younger. The Phillies need Utley, Howard and Rollins to perform (which could be tough) for this team to be successful next season.

He's putting up those numbers in limited time, though. Hard to believe a team as offensively challenged as the Giants(25th in runs scored) would trade such a potent bat.

He's got a better average and OBP than Mayberry and Nix, but both of those players have more power, and both can play multiple positions. He certainly fits in the mix off the bench, I just doubt that he's the next Jayson Werth.

No those at bats are against lefthanders. It's written in plain English. And he's hitting .174 against them. As I correctly said. You'll also notice that most of his at bats this year are against RH pitchers. Which is interesting because you would think that a player that hits lefties so well would get more at bats against lefties.
