Let's not forget Anaheim wants the moon and stars for him, and he's simply not worth that in a trade. If Ryan was from Toronto, nobody'd care about getting him. - Jsaquella

Good. I think Lavy is a great coach for this team and city in general. Can't wait for all the haters to come out and complain. "Change the system! Change the system!" That system won Carolina a Cup in 2006 and brought the Flyers within 2 wins of one in 2010. |

I will stand amongst the haters screaming back at them..."Execute the system correctly! Execute the system correctly!"

I'm with you. People just needed a scapegoat as to why they lost to NJ so they decided on Laviolette and his system after they couldn't blame Bryz. |

But...but...NHL12 allows me to trade Read, Manning, and a pick for him! WHY DOESN'T ANAHEIM PLAY NHL12?!

exactly...
i think the system is fine as long as you are able to tweak it here and there to offset what the other team is doing. But, to constantly trying to blame one thing or another on one or two people are insane. I always get a kick out of the twitter coaches. |

I LOVE the Twitter coaches. I always end up getting into arguments with them even though I always try to hold myself back. I agree with tweaking it but that's standard procedure. It's funny to see people wanting to convert to a defensive system like the Rangers. That didn't work out for them either and they had the best goalie and D in the league. |

he could have scored a few goals in the NJ series and all the soft goals he let in from December to February really hurt them in that series too. |

In my opinion if they add a 1-2 forecheck to their systems play and attack more along the half wall or around the circles, would do a lot for them in certain situations. Puts F2 or F3 in a much better position to defend on a breakout. Rather then playing a 2-1 or 2-3 press ultra aggressive forecheck all the time. I think that simple adjustment of playing that way more, would improve them defensively in certain game situations. |

Our system is at an all time low here. What has happened to the Flyers bringing up there own players. There is no development. |

in any system you need to have new wrinkles. I'm not going to get into what the wrinkles should be. I don't get paid to come up with them.
and great point on the Rangers. I love how the team got swept but they still lost in the playoffs as did the Flyers.
Getting into an argument with them, i did a few times and i just let it go...LOL |

Couturier and Read are homegrown too. And it's not like the Flyers are trading all of their prospects for big name players. They were the winners in the trades for the Couts pick/Voracek/Cousins pick, Timonen/Hartnell, Coburn, Mesz and Grossmann. |

It's easier to scapegoat than actually consider what the problem could be too. Injuries, emotional drainage from the PIT series, loss of puck battles, lack of team defense and NJ's play were all contributing factors to the Flyers demise this year. For most casual fans, they don't quite understand or know how to spot this so they blame the system/coach or any other SINGLE factor. |

That's another thing altogether... I've heard people blame everyone under the sun for the Phils demise. A slew of injuries, a core of past-their-prime players and a Triple-A bullpen did the Fightins in. |
