Sorry, was researching Briere's CORGI stats as you spoke.
I crunched a lot of numbers, but it appears as if on a scale of 1 corgi to 10, he is at 8 corgis, which if you divide by 2 and do a backflip, comes out to 1,200 corgis, which means he would not be a bad choice for captain. - feelingkettle

Given the Flyers past history of pronouncing guys as "fine" this gives me a bit of pause, especially in the case of Bourdon. - Jsaquella
That should say he still has a ways to go in his recovery. |

I say both. Between Timmo and Mez, I assume that Ricky G. and MAB will start game 1. |

Is Meszaros not expected to be ready when the season starts? |

Dear Bill,
I would love to see a blog on offer sheeting Del Zotto or Subban. I'm not saying it is a good idea but it would make for an interesting blog where you break down why, why not, and how much would potentially get it done or totally screw the NYR (which is what we all want- not necessarily through this process). I read the report where Homer says he won't be doing it but would make an interesting read here in the dog days of summer.
Thank you for your consideration,

I would think that given Mezaros has already returned, he should be good to go for the start of the season, whenever that happens. |

He played hurt, with it being his back I wouldn't be shocked if he was slowed in recovery. |

How slow in recovery could he be, if he already played a game ahead of schedule, two months ago? I'm leaning on he'll be fine, it's Bourdon I'm worried about, concussions and Flyers don't mix too well. |

All we would be doing wih PK is helping the Habs sign him. Nothing more nothing less. In any event, would he even be worth 4 1sts? And/or who would we give up in a trade back? Let's just leave our roster as is for now. |

Depends, you can tweak it in many ways. They don't say much so I have no idea. |

You wouldn't offer Subban a high enough deal for the compensation to be 4 1sts. |

Right. Good point. Even more reason that mtl would match. They do have cap room I believe. |

Not necessarily since they have been offering up low ball numbers and rumors are swirling that Subban might want out. I think the Del Zotto offer sheet could be even more interesting since it could handcuff the NYR which would be extremely beneficial. I'm not suggesting it is a good thing to do from a league respect angle or the many other reasons not to do it, I am suggesting I would like to read an intelligent break down of what it could look like. Bill, of course would provide an intelligent perspective on it, as always. |

I'd think the Habs would match unless the offer was asinine for Subban.
Del Zotto would interest me more, but the Rangers have the cap room to match anything the Flyers could throw at him. |

Is it Holmer's goal to tick off every GM in the league this summer? |

I enjoyed that article. Thanks for posting it. I hear time and again that Briere is not good on the wing and better at center. I wonder how this article cold be used in that discussion?

Neither player is a good candidate for an Offer Sheet. You wouldn't offer a contract that was one, at a high base salary, or two, constructed in such a way to make it difficult for the other team to match, such as front loading. Neither player is at that point in their careers.

Agree. It would be nice to see a trade worked out for Subban. |
